Safety First!

Meow jammers!
This is the safety first page to inform you about all the problems caused by cats.
Cats are one of the most disease carrying animals on Earth.
They have lots of germs all around their bodies.
These germs can be very harmful and can lay you in bed for several months.
It can be too dangerous if it is at a serious point.
You need medical resources if you get a bite or scratch from a cat.
This page is going to help you if you were bitten or scratched.
Here are several FAQs (Frequently asked questions) for cat scratches or bites.

Q1: How can the bite or scratch be less harmful?

First of all a very secure way to be safe from scratches or bites is to get your cat vaccinated.
Vaccine is a kind of injection which makes your cat less harmful.
You can give your cat the injection from a cat hospital nearby.
If you are bitten or scratched by a vaccinated cat, it means you are safe.
Still, sometimes it can be harmful if the scratch or bite was deep and was bleeding for several minutes.
If the situation was like that, you should contact with a doctor immediately.

Q2: What happens if a wild or street cat bites or scratches you?

Usually street or wild cats aren't vaccinated - which can get you into trouble.
These cats carry more germs than the ones which are domestic and stay in houses.
It can be even more harmful if the scratch or bite marks are on the hand, foot, neck, face, joint or bone.
This can cause allergies or make the area weak. Tetanus can take place.
If the scratch or bite is on a child with a weak immune system it is more harmful.
In that case a doctor is necessary.

Q3: A few ways to protect yourself when the bite or scratch is bleeding:

1. Wear safety gloves on your hands or on the other hand if you have been bit or scratched on the hand.
This can help stop the germ from spreading around your body.

2. Press the area which is bleeding unless all the blood from the mark comes out.
Hold it under water while you are doing this.

3. Put the area under water for several minutes for the germ to flow away. Wash it with antibacterial soap and water.

3. Wipe the wet area with a clean and soft towel or tissue paper. Make sure nobody else uses the towel or tissue after that or they might get the disease too.

4. Put antibiotic ointment on the bleeding area.

5. Wrap the area with a sterilized and disinfected cloth.

6. Finally call your doctor and take an appointment.

Q4: What happens to the cat after it bit or scratched you?

As you will be facing problems, so will the cat.
Human body and cat bodies are different in every ways.
Our blood won't suit them and theirs won't suit ours.
If your blood is stuck on the cats nail or teeth and the cat licks it, the cat will be mad.
It will then behave strange and awkward and only be thirsty for water even after it has drunk a lot of water already. That is an animal sickness which happens from the human blood.
Now if that cat goes and bites or scratches someone else, he/she may suffer a lot of illness.
The person may also be sick enough to die.
So tell your doctor the address of where you have been bit or scratched and the color and look of the cat. The doctor will inform the animal catchers about it.
*Do NOT try to seek action yourself!*

Q5: What do I do if I don't want the cat to bite or scratch me?

Everything happens for a reason, as said.
So the cat bites or scratches you for a reason.
It may be because it didn't like what you were doing.
It may have wanted some time alone.
You may have woke it up from sleep or disturbed it.
So many more reasons...
If you do something which it doesn't like, it will scratch or bite you.
Cats never scratch or bite without a reason.
So if you don't want to get hurt by a cat follow the list below.

Here are some things you should never do to a cat:

1. Poke it even after it isn't tell you anything. At a certain point it will get irritated and bite or scratch you no matter how much it likes you. Do not poke it specially when it is snoozing, busy seeing something, eating etc.
*Never poke a cat on it's eyes!*

2. Never tease a cat. Some people say cats understand what humans say - and they might. I have seen my cats Pearl and Gucha understand my feelings when I was crying.

3. Never disturb a cat, specially while it is having a nap or food. Do not even disturb it while it is doing nothing. It will get angry and bite or scratch you.

4. Stay away if your cat starts to behave strangely. It may have got sick.

5. Do not run after beautiful cats living on streets. Street cats are very terribly dangerous and harmful.

6. Never wake a cat from it's sleep.

7. Do not touch a cat's tail. The tail helps them to calculate the gravitational force. If you touch the tail it will not be able to calculate. Never touch a cat's tail when it is trying to jump or it may fall.
Some cats don't feel disturbed when you touch their tail, but cats used to it minds. Anywho, you shan't touch it even after it does nothing.

8. Never make a cat do something with force. Never force them to sleep. Never force them to eat something it doesn't like.

9. Let a cat be alone when it shows it's nails or teeth. It may be on a purpose to warn you for staying away.

10. Never hang a cat upside down. Their blood will reach the mind and they will die!

11. Stay away from it if it bites or scratches you once.
